Diamond Paintings have taken the world by storm! First introduced in 2015, being very popular in Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Brought to the USA in 2017, this craft gained a huge following with the COVID-19 pandemic which required us to isolate by March of 2019.
Described as "compared to paint by number and counted cross stitch", Diamond Painting has neither diamonds nor is there painting involved. A picture, printed on canvas, has an overlaying grid & symbols printed on it with a sticky substance applied to the printed surface. Like paint-by-number and counted cross stitch, these symbols relate to a color, in this case of small acrylic faceted stone/gem/jewels which are placed on the sticky surface. Once the faceted acrylic or resin pieces are all applied the picture is revealed as a glimmering, though slightly pixilated piece of art. The larger the picture the clearer it is once completed, smaller pictures can have rather distracting pixilation. All pictures should be displayed from at least 4 to 6 feet distance.
I research the pictures that I purchase and offer for sale through my shop so that I can offer you pictures that are clear and easy to craft with. I sell pictures with poured glue rather than double sided tape, although there are some double sided tape pictures for sale. Most pictures are kitted up with opaque resin faceted "rhinestones" with over 300 colors available industry wide. These colors are color coded to match DMC floss colors on many of the pictures. I also offer translucent acrylic rhinestones and special shape stone pictures. All kits come with the supplies need to create your masterpiece with the exception of a picture frame.
